1. Who we are
SoftHunt is a platform for European founders and builders to share and discover early-stage products. The service is operated from Sweden and all data is stored within the EU. For privacy matters, contact us at privacy@softhunt.eu.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following information when you use SoftHunt:
- Account data - your email address and username, provided when you register.
- Uploaded files - logos, screenshots, and other files you submit with your product listings.
- Technical data - your IP address and basic browser information (user agent, language), collected automatically on each request.
- Usage data - actions you take on the platform such as upvotes, posts, and forum activity.
We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, or any sensitive personal data.
3. Why we collect it
- To provide the service - your account data lets you log in, post products, and participate in discussions.
- To send transactional notifications - we may email you about activity on your account (e.g. replies to your posts). You can opt out at any time.
- To prevent abuse - IP addresses and browser data help us detect spam, bots, and fraudulent activity.
- To improve the platform - aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand how the service is used.
The legal basis for processing under GDPR is Article 6(1)(b) (performance of a contract) for account and service data, and Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests) for security and abuse prevention.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We use the following third-party processors:
- Brevo Used to send transactional emails. Your email address is shared with Brevo solely for this purpose. Brevo is GDPR-compliant and processes data within the EU.
- Gcore Used for DDoS protection and CDN. Traffic passes through Gcore's network; IP addresses are processed under their privacy policy. Gcore operates within the EU.
- Our hosting provider The server running SoftHunt is located in Sweden. Server staff may have access to server-level data in order to maintain infrastructure.
6. Where data is stored
All user data is stored on servers located in Sweden, within the European Union. Gcore, our CDN and DDoS protection provider, operates EU-based infrastructure, meaning traffic processing remains within the EEA.
7. Your rights under GDPR
As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Right of access - you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification - you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure - you can request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Right to data portability - you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to restrict processing - you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to object - you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@softhunt.eu. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish supervisory authority: Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY) at imy.se.
8. How to request account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Alternatively, email privacy@softhunt.eu with the subject line "Delete my account" and we will process your request within 7 days. Uploaded files and profile data will be permanently removed.
9. Cookies and session data
SoftHunt uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and does not track you across other websites. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts.
