Everything you need to know about submitting and managing your product on SoftHunt.
Any developer or team building software that is primarily developed, owned, or operated by a European entity can submit a product. This includes:
To submit a product you need a Developer account. You can register as a developer during sign-up or request a developer role upgrade from your profile.
Your product must be live and usable. Vaporware, landing pages with no product, or products in private beta with no access will not be approved.
Your product name, tagline, description, and links must accurately represent the product. Misleading descriptions will result in rejection.
Do not submit the same product multiple times. If your submission was rejected, address the feedback and resubmit once with the changes applied.
Products that facilitate illegal activities, contain adult content, or are designed to harm users will be immediately rejected and the account banned.
If your product includes a downloadable installer, it must meet the following requirements:
All Windows installers (.exe, .msi) must be signed with a valid code signing certificate. Unsigned binaries trigger SmartScreen warnings and create a poor user experience. macOS installers must be notarized by Apple.
Installers must not contain malware, adware, or bundled third-party software that the user didn't explicitly request. Products found to contain such software will be immediately removed.
Include an SHA-256 checksum in your product description so users can verify the integrity of downloaded files.
SoftHunt supports installer uploads up to 500MB. For larger applications, consider linking to your own download server.
The EU Verified badge is awarded to products that meet additional criteria beyond the standard submission requirements. To qualify:
EU Verified status is reviewed by the SoftHunt team and can be requested after your product is approved. It can be revoked if the above conditions are no longer met.
After your product is published, you can propose changes via the Edit button on your product page. All edits are reviewed before going live. You can update:
Create a developer account and submit your product for review. The review process typically takes 24–48 hours.
